Starts at Home Day takes place on Friday 3 September. Now in its fifth year, Starts at Home Day is a day when housing associations across the country celebrate Supported Housing and the positive impact it makes on thousands of lives.

What Supported Housing means to us?

Here at Places for People Living Plus, Supported Housing means everything to us. We understand that Supported Housing helps people to live independently and to lead their best lives. Through the range of services we provide across the country, we feel we do a fantastic job to make a real difference for our customers.

We make sure people who need extra support will always have a safe home that meets their needs. Our experience of supporting people through the pandemic has shown the value of care and support services, and the difference that having a safe and secure place to live can make to people's lives.

What does Supported Housing mean to you?

We asked some of our customers what Supported Housing means to them, and here is what they had to say.

  • Rachel - "Supported Housing means a lot to me because when I fell pregnant, I needed help. Thankfully, I am getting the support I need. If it wasn't for supported Housing, I would be in a bad place, so to me, it means everything".
  • Leona - "Supported Housing has helped me with my mental health problems, and I am happy for the progress I have made".
  • Ethan - "Supported Housing is a safe environment for me to learn new skills and develop as a person. The support I receive from members of the team is important to me and is a key step to help me move along".

What does Supported Housing mean to you? We would love for you to get involved. Please take a moment to think about it and check out our updates on social media where we'll be sharing stories.
