Ahead of welcoming its first residents later this year, Places for People Living Plus, has unveiled two immersive new videos showing prospective customers around Nightingale Lodge in Romsey.
Offering new accommodation to over 55s, Nightingale Lodge – named after Victorian icon and former Romsey resident Florence Nightingale – is a new community development being delivered by Places for People Living Plus in partnership with Test Valley Borough Council and Hampshire County Council.
Prospective customers are invited to look around Nightingale Lodge for the first time, releasing two new videos and a range of images ahead of completion later this year. They show what the completed brick building will look like, as well as offering residents a virtual walk through the communal resident areas – including a large garden – as well as a look inside the 54 homes – each of which offer modern, spacious, self-contained accommodation and private outdoor space. These homes will be available in two ways; 17 properties will be on sale through Shared Ownership, while 37 affordable rent properties will be available via Hampshire Home Choice for people who have care and housing needs in the local area. Andy Lomas MD of Places for People Living Plus explained: “As we near completion of this new community I am delighted to release these images and videos and to show future residents around for the first time.
“We are passionate about creating well-designed, affordable and attainable homes available to customers through either Shared Ownership sale or affordable rent and I hope that the new visuals appeal to a range of local people.”
Nightingale Lodge will offer several extra care facilities – including 24-hour onsite care, commissioned by Hampshire County Council. Residents will also benefit from a wellness suite, hair and beauty salon, a restaurant to enjoy meals with other residents or guests, a club lounge to relax in, a communal lounge which will be a hub for social activities, plus a landscaped communal garden for sociable summer’s days. Each home will also feature a private balcony or outside terrace for enjoying a book or quiet, restful times.
Tom Brown, National Retirement Living Manager, added: “Extra care apartments are ideal for those who wish to be independent, with their own front door and privacy, yet with the knowledge that they can be supported in their own home when necessary. Nightingale Lodge is about embracing life, and the new opportunities a development like this can offer are endless.”
Located just one mile from the historic market town of Romsey and a short drive from the New Forest, means that residents are surrounded by local attractions to enjoy with family and friends – and with private residents parking at Nightingale Lodge, living there is hassle free.
Places for People Group, owns or manages more than 209,000 homes across the UK. Nightingale Lodge is the company’s first extra care development in Romsey.
